I’ve been especially thankful for the holiday season over the last few years because it always brings the opportunity (excuse? imperative? requirement?) to get into making something. Regrettably, the tools I have in the workshop gather dust most of the year long, but around Christmas time the inner-Gepetto gets to come out and I get into making something I almost invariably end up breaking…partly out of the rush to get done an oft-ambitious offering, but also in part due to the rusty skills that have atrophied from a lack of use since last Christmas.
This year, Andrea’s mom dropped some hints over the Fall-time that she’d like a new bird feeder, as her last one was first vandalized and then burgled by a hungry black bear…this one may very well meet the same fate, but here’s to hoping it’ll host a bird or two in its brief tenure before it does.
